Desserts and Cheese
This month is dedicated to the best thing ever, DESSERT! Dessert is the sweet course eaten at the end of a meal. Dessert is one of the courses that ranges. Sometimes desserts aren't even super sweet! This month you'll be learning about 2 awesome dessert that I personally love. Cream cheese plays a big part in many desserts. One of the main reasons it plays a big part is because it is super versatile. I can be in cake form, bar form, used as an icing or drizzle. You will learn about different variations of cheesecakes.
Cheesecake
2 (8 oz) packages of cream cheese, softened
1 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 eggs
1 graham cracker crust
-Preheat oven to 350 degrees
1. In a large mixing bowl combine the softened cream cheese and the sugar mix until well combined.
2. Add the eggs, one at a time, combine until well incorporated.
3. Add the vanilla
4. Pour the cream cheese mixture into prepared graham cracker crust and bake for 30-40 minutes
5. Let cool until slightly warm and place in the fridge for 2-3 hours until firm.
6. ENJOY
Variations.
For those who want something a little more.....
Option 1. Blueberry or Raspberry Cheesecake-Follow the steps above except after you add the vanilla fold in 1 cup of blueberries or raspberries and then bake.
Option 2. Crazed Cookie and Candy Cheesecake.- Follow original cheesecake recipe and after the vanilla fold in 3/4 cup chopped Oreo cookies or chopped Reese's peanut butter cups.
Option 3. Lemon or Lime Lunatic- Follow the original cheesecake recipe and after the vanilla add a teaspoon or two of lime or lemon juice. You can add more if you really love the citrus. This variation has been known to be a real hit. There is nothing like a nice slice of lemon cheesecake to end your night.
